INTERNATIONAL CONDUCTING COMPETITION
"in the City of Milan"
RULES
The competition is open to musicians of any nationality, with no age limit. The competition will be held in Milan (Italy), from Tuesday September 26th to Friday 29th September 2023. Interested candidates can apply from 15 April to 16 July 2023.
EVIDENCE STRUCTURE
The competition is divided into the following phases:
1- PRELIMINARY PHASE
Candidates are required to send a video of maximum 20 minutes via "WETRANSFER" or via link (Youtube or others), in order to demonstrate their skills. The video should be addressed to: Conducting.Competition.Milan@gmail.com
Registration for the PRELIMINARY PHASE is completely free and consists in examining the videos received by the Jury. Any type of ensemble is admitted, with the minimum number of two performing artists in the case of reductions and arrangements (for example, reductions for two pianos). The video must have a maximum duration of 20 minutes, the director's hands and face must be clearly visible.
2- ELIMINATION PHASE
Candidates admitted to the ELIMINATORY PHASE will have to confirm their participation through the official registration and payment of the fee of Euro 400.00 as specified on the "SIGN UP - ISCRIZIONE - INSCRIBIRSE" page.
For each step of the ELIMINATION PHASE, one third of the candidates will always be admitted to the next step.
2.1- FIRST ELIMINATORY from 26rd to 27th September from 1.30pm to 8.30pm.
Conduction of the orchestra for 10 minutes.
Test programme: F. SCHUBERT, Symphony n.5 in B flat Major D.485.
A movement drawn by lot from the candidate.
2.2- SECOND ELIMINATORY on 28th September from 1.30pm to 8.30pm.
Conduction of the Orchestra for 15 minutes.
Test programme: R. WAGNER, Siegfried's Idyll.
The starting point is chosen by the candidate.
SEMIFINAL
Friday 29th September 2023 from 1:20pm to 4:00pm each candidate will have 20 minutes to conduct the Orchestra.
The repertoire of the Semifinal will be drawn from the following:
- L. VAN BEETHOVEN, Symphony n.7 in A Major Op.92.
- L. VAN BEETHOVEN: Overture from "Egmont"
- F. MENDELSSOHN: Overture "The Hebrides"
THE FINAL
Friday 29th September from 4:30pm to 6:45pm.
The three finalists will have 45 minutes each to concert with the Orchestra.
The program of the Final will be chosen by the Jury among all the pieces of the Competition.
WINNER CONCERT
The Winner's Concert will be held on Friday 29th September at 9.15pm.
On Fiday 29 September the winner will have the Orchestra at his disposal from 7.30pm to 8.45pm to be able to rehearse the concert pieces. The concert will have the following program:
- LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN: Symphony n.7 in A major op.92,
- LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN: Overture from "Egmont",
- FELIX MENDELSSOHN: Overture "The Hebrides".
CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE DI DIREZIONE D'ORCHESTRA
"Città di Milano"
REGOLAMENTO
Il concorso è aperto a musicisti di qualsiasi nazionalità, senza limiti di età. La competizione si terrà a Milano (Italia), da martedì 26 settembre a venerdì 29 settembre 2023. I candidati interessati possono presentare domanda dal 15 aprile al 16 luglio 2023.
ARTICOLAZIONE DELLE PROVE
Il concorso si articola nelle seguenti fasi:
1- FASE PRELIMINARE
I candidati sono tenuti ad inviare un video di massimo 20 minuti tramite "WETRANSFER" o via link (Youtube o altri), al fine di dimostrare le proprie competenze. Il video va indirizzato a: Conducting.Competition.Milan@gmail.com
L'iscrizione alla FASE PRELIMINARE è completamente gratuita e consiste nell'esame dei video pervenuti da parte della Giuria. È ammesso qualsiasi tipo di ensemble, con il numero minimo di due artisti esecutori in caso di riduzioni e arrangiamenti (ad esempio, riduzioni per due pianoforti). Il video deve avere una durata massima di 20 minuti, le mani ed il volto del direttore devono essere ben visibili.
2- FASE ELIMINATORIA
I candidati ammessi alla FASE ELIMINATORIA dovranno confermare la loro partecipazione attraverso l'iscrizione ufficiale ed il versamento della quota di Euro 400,00 così come specificato nella pagina "SIGN UP - ISCRIZIONE - INSCRIBIRSE".
Per ogni fase eliminatoria saranno sempre ammessi alla fase successiva un terzo dei candidati.
2.1- PRIMA ELIMINATORIA dal 26 al 27 settembre dalle ore 13:30 alle ore 20:30.
Conduzione dell'Orchestra per 10 minuti.
Programma della prova: F. SCHUBERT, Sinfonia n.5 in SI bemolle Maggiore D.485.
Un movimento estratto a sorte dal candidato.
2.2- SECONDA ELIMINATORIA il 28 settembre dalle ore 13:30 alle ore 20:30.
Conduzione dell'Orchestra per 15 minuti.
Programma della prova: R. WAGNER, Idillio di Sigfrido.
Il punto di partenza viene scelto dal candidato.
SEMIFINALE
Venerdì 29 settembre 2023 dalle ore 13:20 alle ore 16:00 ciascun candidato avrà a disposizione 20 minuti per concertare con l'Orchestra.
Repertorio della Semifinale sarà una fra le seguenti:
- L. VAN BEETHOVEN, Sinfonia n.7 in LA Maggiore Op.92.
- L. VAN BEETHOVEN: Ouverture da "Egmont"
- F. MENDELSSOHN: Ouverture "Le Ebridi"
FINALE
Venerdì 29 settembre dalle ore 16:30 alle ore 18:45.
I tre finalisti avranno a disposizione 45 minuti per concertare con l'Orchestra.
Il programma della Finale verrà scelto dalla Giuria tra tutti i brani del Concorso.
CONCERTO DEL VINCITORE
Il Concerto del Vincitore si terrà venerdì 29 settembre alle ore 21:15.
Venerdì 29 settembre il vincitore avrà a disposizione l'Orchestra dalle 19:30 alle 20:45 per poter provare i brani del concerto. Il concerto avrà il seguente programma:
- LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN: Sinfonia n.7 in LA maggiore op.92,
- LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN: Ouverture da "Egmont",
- FELIX MENDELSSOHN: Ouverture "Le Ebridi".
CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL DE DIRECCIÓN
"Ciudad de Milán"
REGLAS
El concurso está abierto a músicos de cualquier nacionalidad, sin límite de edad. El concurso se llevará a cabo en Milán (Italia), del martes 26 de septiembre al viernes 29 de septiembre de 2023. Los candidatos interesados pueden postularse del 15 de abril al 16 de julio de 2023.
ESTRUCTURA DE EVIDENCIA
El concurso se divide en las siguientes fases:
1- FASE PRELIMINAR
Los candidatos deben enviar un video de un máximo de 20 minutos a través de "WETRANSFER" o un enlace (Youtube u otros), para demostrar sus
habilidades. El video debe estar dirigido a: Conducting.Competition.Milan@gmail.com
La inscripción a la FASE PRELIMINAR es totalmente gratuita y consiste en examinar los vídeos recibidos por el Jurado. Se admite cualquier tipo de formación, con el mínimo de dos artistas intérpretes en el caso de reducciones y arreglos (por ejemplo, reducciones para dos pianos). El video debe tener una duración máxima de 20 minutos, las manos y la cara del director deben ser claramente visibles.
2- FASE DE ELIMINACIÓN
Los candidatos admitidos a la FASE ELIMINATORIA deberán confirmar su participación mediante la inscripción oficial y el pago de la tasa de 400,00 euros según se especifica en la página "SIGN UP - ISCRIZIONE - INSCRIBIRSE".
Para cada etapa preliminar, siempre se admitirá a la siguiente etapa un tercio de los candidatos.
2.1- PRIMERA ELIMINATORIA del 26 al 27 de septiembre de 13.30 a 20.30 h.
Dirección de la Orquesta durante 10 minutos.
Programa de prueba: F. SCHUBERT, Sinfonía n.5 en si bemol mayor D.485.
Un movimiento sacado por sorteo del candidato.
2.2- SEGUNDA ELIMINATORIA 28 de septiembre de 13.30 a 20.30 h.
Dirección de la Orquesta durante 15 minutos.
Programa de prueba: R. WAGNER, El idilio de Siegfried.
El punto de partida lo elige el candidato.
SEMIFINAL
Viernes 29 de septiembre de 2023 de 13:20 a 16:00 cada candidato dispondrá de 20 minutos para dirigir la Orquesta.
El repertorio de la Semifinal será una entre las siguientes:
- L. VAN BEETHOVEN, Sinfonía n.7 en La Mayor Op.92
- L. VAN BEETHOVEN: Ouverture de "Egmont"
- F. MENDELSSOHN: Ouverture "Las Hébridas"
FINAL
Viernes 29 de septiembre de 16:30 a 18:45.
Los tres finalistas dispondrán de 45 minutos de concierto con la Orquesta.
El programa de la Final será elegido por el Jurado entre todas las piezas del Concurso.
CONCIERTO DEL GANADOR
El Concierto de Ganadores se celebrará el viernes 29 de septiembre a las 21.15 horas.
El viernes 29 de septiembre el ganador tendrá a su disposición la Orquesta de 19.30 a 20.45 h. para poder ensayar las piezas del concierto. El concierto tendrá el siguiente programa:
- LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN: Sinfonía n.7 en la mayor op.92,
- LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN: Ouverture de "Egmont",
- FELIX MENDELSSOHN: Ouverture "Las Hébridas".
